Marketing Intern

Join our dynamic Marketing Team!

Summary of Position:

We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our marketing department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies. As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our Classic marketing team in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels. This internship will help you acquire marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

Things to note: the internship is unpaid and only valid for school credit, and must be based out of Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ. Your internship guidelines through your school which will determine the number of hours you’ll need to work each week (approx. 8-15). Most of the work will be done remotely, with a weekly team meeting to check-in and review responsibilities. Must show school credit/internship paperwork upon being offered the internship. Must have own personal laptop.

Essential Functions:

The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing Manager with the following duties:

  • Communications and approvals with all hotel departments (including but not limited to: golf, spa, athletic club, food and beverage, conference services, front desk, reservations, sales and marketing, information technology, human resources), property executive management, Classic Hotels & Resorts executives, owners and various vendors including advertising, public relations, website and printer vendors
  • Email marketing and database management
  • Website updates
  • Basic social media advertising conceptualization and creation
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
  • Perform market analysis and research on competition
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Prepare promotional presentations
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Identify opportunities for additional engagement and messaging for brand
  • Assist in daily reputation management
  • Assist with photography & content creation needs

Qualifications:

Education: Currently Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in marketing or comparable area. The internship is unpaid and only valid for school credit, and must be based out of Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ. Your internship guidelines through your school which will determine the number of hours you’ll need to work each week (approx. 8-15).

Experience: Marketing or design experience preferred.

Certificates or Licenses: NA

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Marketing, Journalism, and/or Communications major, or similar degree field
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram (& related tools), Twitter, Pinterest (& related tools), and WordPress.
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics and Google Adwords)
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Data-driven with ability to connect results with goals
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Design experience a plus! (Adobe Suite) - include examples with resume if applicable
