Shipping & Receiving Agent

Join our gorgeous, Havana themed property and interact with every department, handling all shipping & receiving duties, and learning all the goings on of a full service, sensational resort! Great entry level , FT, days, purchasing position!

Summary of Position:

The Shipping and Receiving Agent will be responsible for handling all of the tasks associated with the shipping, receiving and delivering needs for such items for The Scott Resort & Spa.

Essential Functions:

~ Receive, timely log and deliver all internal and external guest parcels

~ Receive, timely log and inspect daily food and beverage deliveries to ensure accuracy of the order.

~ Ensure that the accuracy, quality and the freshness of the delivery is the highest and meets our resort’s standards

~ Works closely with sales/catering/conference services/banquets and culinary departments to ensure property and guest packages are received, accurately logged and delivered properly with all pertinent and correct information.

~ Deliver priority guest packages each morning in a timely manner

~ Log packages by using the resort’s tracking system to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

will take on the function of uniform inventory and control.

~ Assist Chefs and other managers with any additional assigned duties

~ Attend meetings and maintain communication via email, phone and in person as it pertains to all S/R related needs

~ Keep shipping & receiving areas clean

~ Perform other duties as requested by Director of Finance and other resort leadership

~ Assist with food purchasing as needed

~ Maintain lost & found, update online program for guests to retrieve items

~ Act as the Finance representative for all quarterly inventory counts including banquets, outlets, culinary, honor bar & spa

~ Prepare package log for accounting after group/conference departure for billing

~ Review, code & submit to accounting, monthly billing from various delivery companies, ie FedEx, UPS, etc.

~ Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance and leadership of the resort


Education: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience: 1-3 years previous shipping and receiving experience preferred, but not necessary. Prior guest service or other Hospitality experience preferred.

Certificates or Licenses: Valid Driver’s License with clean motor vehicle record

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Scott Resort & Spa believes that each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. Individuals must possess and demonstrate the ability to interact with all guests effectively, internal and external, and act with tact and diplomacy in line with The Scott’s service standards.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form in English.

Ability to work with Microsoft Office and basic Excel spreadsheets.

Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.

Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision within two weeks after Associate begins work.

Ability to perform The Scott’s Standards and Mystery Shopper Standards.

Ability to lift and move parcels upwards of 75 lbs.

Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and remain organized with large volume of parcels each day.

Position requires extensive activity including but not limited to walking and climbing stairs.

Ability to tolerate sun and extreme temperatures for extended periods of time.

Ability to listen, effectively accomplish tasks, and speak clearly.
