Summary of Position:
•Coordinate the buying of food and beverage for storeroom and outlets.
•Manage each part of the supply chain to ensure consistent delivery of goods.
•Monitor pars and order to par levels on daily basis for food and non-food items.
•Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors.
•Order Banquet items daily for next day deliver based on Kitchen requests.
•Track daily food invoice purchases and post total to Ballroom checkbook.
•Assist Clerk in receiving, rotating and delivery of product throughout resort.
•Participate in monthly inventories.
•Obtain weekly bids for produce, meat and fish and update order guides with pricing.
•Complete Payroll in absence of Director of Purchasing.
•Assist Director of Purchasing in daily operation tasks and duties as needed.
•Comply with the Arizona Grand Resort H.E.A.R.T.felt culture (Vision, Values & Standards) of conduct as set forth in the resort communications.
•Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Purchasing and the Executive Chef.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Three (3) yeas previous experience in hospitality purchasing favorable but not required.
Certificates or Licenses: Maricopa County Food Service Worker card and Arizona Title IV alcohol
certification. CPR certification is preferred. Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Previous experience and knowledge in buying for resort hotel..
•Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
•Ability to think quickly on feet to resolve challenging opportunities which arise.
•Knowledge of local Phoenix suppliers is favorable.
•Ability to work with others and treat everyone with respect.
•Research and analytical skills.
•Attention to detail.
•Organizational skills: maintain a neat organized workspace and maintains important documents pertinent to job
•Effective communication skills: Communicates effectively: speaks and listens in a clear, thorough, and timely manner, effectively reading and writing, using the English language
•Professional Appearance: Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a four diamond resort (Specific grooming standards are available for review)
