We are looking for a Head Chef / Banquet Chef to help lead our kitchen team.
La Playa Hotel, Carmel is a historic, boutique hotel with a reputation for exquisite accommodations, service and cuisine. The ideal candidate for Sous Chef will work directly with our Executive Chef and be involved in all aspects of running the kitchen. You will be responsible for upholding our standards, and level of consistency and working on improving them. You will be involved in kitchen scheduling, ordering and inventory. Experience in these areas is required. Attention to detail, cleanliness, a level-headed attitude, and a strong commitment to kitchen organization and quality are very important. You should be a fast worker, quick thinker and problem solver. You should be comfortable leading and motivating a kitchen team.
